IT Product Manager

Overview
Docan Money is a UK financial technology company developing a regulated digital money platform for individual customers, including digital onboarding, e-money accounts, card functionality, payments, fraud controls, compliance workflows and customer account management.
We are seeking an experienced IT Product Manager to lead the planning, delivery and continuous improvement of Docan Money’s digital product platform. The successful candidate will work across product, engineering, compliance, operations, customer support and third-party technology providers to ensure that our systems are secure, scalable, user-friendly and aligned with UK regulatory expectations.
This role is suitable for a technically capable product manager with international experience in fintech, digital banking, payments, financial technology, mobile applications or regulated digital platforms. The candidate should be able to adapt their experience to the UK financial services environment and work within Docan Money’s governance, compliance and operational risk framework.
Where applicable, Docan Money may consider candidates who require UK work authorisation, provided the role, salary, qualifications and candidate experience meet the relevant legal and Home Office requirements.
Responsibilities

Managing the product roadmap for Docan Money’s mobile app, web platform, onboarding journey, wallet functionality, payments, card features, compliance tools and customer account services.

Translating business, customer, operational and regulatory requirements into clear technical specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria and product delivery plans.

Working with software engineers, UI/UX designers, QA testers, DevOps, compliance staff and external vendors to deliver secure and reliable product releases.

Managing digital onboarding and customer account journeys, including identity verification, document capture, biometric checks, customer risk scoring, account opening and customer profile management.

Supporting the design and delivery of payment, wallet and card-related product features, including transaction flows, spending controls, notifications, account limits and operational exception handling.

Coordinating technical integrations with third-party providers, including banking, card issuing, identity verification, AML screening, fraud monitoring, cloud infrastructure, messaging and customer support systems.

Ensuring product features support AML/CTF controls, sanctions screening, fraud prevention, safeguarding, complaints handling, vulnerable customer support, audit trails and management information requirements.

Maintaining product documentation, including process flows, system requirements, technical specifications, release notes, risk assessments, change logs and operational procedures.

Prioritising product enhancements, defects, incidents and change requests according to customer impact, regulatory risk, operational urgency and business value.

Monitoring product performance metrics, including onboarding completion rates, payment errors, support issues, incident trends, fraud indicators, system availability and customer experience data.

Keeping up to date with developments in fintech, mobile banking, payments, digital identity, cybersecurity, fraud prevention, regulatory technology and UK financial services regulation.

Working professionally in a UK-regulated environment and demonstrating a clear understanding of accountability, documentation, escalation and compliance expectations.
Experience
-
Previous experience as an IT Product Manager, Technical Product Manager, Product Owner, Digital Product Manager, Fintech Product Manager or similar role.

Experience managing the delivery of software products, digital platforms, mobile applications, web portals, API-based systems or cloud-hosted technology services.

Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, agile delivery, sprint planning, backlog management, user stories, acceptance criteria and release management.

Ability to work with technical teams and understand APIs, databases, system architecture, authentication, cloud services, integrations, testing and deployment processes.

Experience working with cross-functional teams, including engineering, compliance, operations, customer support, finance, risk and external technology vendors.

Good analytical ability, including the use of customer data, operational MI, incident data and product metrics to identify risks and improvement opportunities.

Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment while maintaining appropriate governance, documentation and quality standards.

International product or technology experience that can be applied effectively to the UK market, including the ability to work with UK-based regulatory, compliance and operational expectations.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience working in UK or international fintech, payments, e-money, banking-as-a-service, card issuing, digital banking or regulated financial services.
- Familiarity with KYC, AML, sanctions screening, fraud monitoring, transaction monitoring, customer risk scoring and digital identity verification workflows.
- Experience working with Flutter mobile applications, cloud platforms, API integrations, customer support platforms, compliance systems or payment infrastructure.
- Experience managing third-party technology providers, vendor delivery, SLAs, service incidents and product integration risks.
- Professional qualifications or training in product management, agile delivery, software engineering, information systems, fintech, cybersecurity, data protection or project management.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Product Management, Business Technology, Financial Technology or a related field.
- Multilingual or international market experience, particularly where the candidate has worked on financial products serving diverse customer groups or cross-border technology operations.
